Neem or Azadirachta indica : Natural and pure




Neem or Azadirachta indica is very common name in Indian and Indian subcontinents countries. Most of Indian people once in life time has been used Neem for cleaning their teeth.
In past it was very popular tooth cleaner for Indian people but as time passes and being more commercialization of market impact at people habits and gave them dangerous and chemical tooth paste and cleansers that caused damage more than benefits.

Every part of Neem can be used medicinally. Its leave, seed, bark, rhizome everything is used for different purposed and in different conditions.

Due to insufficient research and lack of awareness, Neem’s effectiveness and usability is doubtful. But no one can challenge Neem's effectiveness.


Some traditional uses of Neem are:

  • ·         It prevents clothes from insects eating.
  • ·         Its leave burnt to keep away mosquitoes.
  • ·         Neem’s Kadha is used for bathing purpose.
  • ·         In some parts of India and other countries it is used for eating purpose also. Mainly seeds and flowers are used for this purpose.
  • ·         Teeth cleaner and tooth brush
  • ·         For making shampoos and toiletries preparations.
  • ·         Neem is very potential fertilizer.
  • ·         Neem is widely used in cosmetic preparations.
  • ·         Also used as bulking agent and used for preparation of special foods.
  • ·         Neem is very good carbon dioxide sucker.
  • ·         Neem oil has very good lubricant property.
  • ·         In India near about 80 % Neem oil is used for making of soap.


Medicinal Uses:
In Ayurveda and Unani system of medicine Neem is a major component. It has Antifungal, Antibacterial, Antiviral, Anthelmintic, Contraceptive, Sedative and anti-diabetic property. For skin diseases, Neem leaves are used. Neem oil is used for hair, to improve liver functions. Neem is also used for blood purification and detoxification agent. It’s prevents bad mouth smell and also preserve teeth from cavity and tooth worms.

Adverse Effect:
Excessive use of Neem may lead to miscarriages, infertility, low blood sugar. Caution is essential while using Neem components.
