Indian Senna (Senai ki Patti) : Relief from Constipation with leaves

Other common names are Senna Leaf, Tinnevelly Senna. Indian Senna mainly contains dried leaflets of Senna Plant (Cassia Angustifolia Vahl) belonging to the family Leguminosae.  Dried Nearly ripe fruits are also used.  Senna was known to physicians from ancient time and was part of Unani medicines. Mostly two type of Senna is cultivated. One is Indian Senna and other is Alexandrian Senna. Indian Senna is cultivated and collected in India, as name suggests and Alexandrian Senna grow in middle and upper Nile territories, tropical Africa, specially Sudan. Purgative property of Senna is due to its two anthraquinone glycosides known as Sennoside A and Sennoside B. Uses of Senna: Senna has purgative property. Brahmi is also known as Jalbrahmi. Brahmi is the leaves and stems of Bacopa moniera belonging to the family Scrophulariaceae. Ginseng : Description and Uses

Ginseng is the dried root of various species of Panax, like P. ginseng (Korean Ginseng), P. japonica (Japanese ginseng), and P. notoginseng (Chinese Ginseng) and P. quinquefolium (American ginseng), belonging to family Araliaceae. Ginseng mainly obtained from Korea, China, Russia, Japan, Canada and USA. Ginseng contains a mixture of several saponin glycosides. Uses of Ginseng: Ø   Ginseng is commonly used as immunomudulatory in food products and medicinal products. 300 Doctors has summoned by Medical Council of India

MCI’s ethics committee has received complaint against 300 doctors from across the country that they had been bribed by a pharmaceutical firm. According to complaint, the Ahmedabad-based pharma company has paying doctors money, gifts, cars, flats and foreign trips in return for prescribing its medicine even though cheaper alternatives from better known companies are available. Nearly 100 of these doctors have been appeared before MCI’s ethics committee on Monday.  150 doctors had to appear before ethics committee, only 109 appeared. The rest were summoned on Monday and asked to appear at next meeting of the committee in December. "About 135 are left and they have been asked to appear at the next meeting of the committee in December. The study presented at an American Heart Association Scientific meeting in Chicago, looked at three years of data collected from all 55 poison control centers around U.S. between Oct. 2010 and Sept. 2013. Report says, “Thousands of children younger than 6 year have experienced adverse effects after consuming energy drinks, and with some suffering serious heart and neurological symptoms” “Energy Drink have no place in pediatric diet,” Dr. Steven Lipshultz, the study’s lead author and head of the pediatrics department at Wayne State University and Chief pediatrician at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, said in press conference.  In 2007, he noticed that an increase in number of children was coming to hospital’s emergency room after consuming energy drinks.
