Also known as Harde, Haritaki. Myrobalan consists of dried ripe and fully matured fruits of Terminalia chebula retzr belonging to the family Combretaceae. It is mainly found in sub- Himalayan regions. It's fruits are yellowish to brown in color. Its taste is astringent, slightly bitter and sweetish at the end. Myrobalan mainly contains Tannin which is mainly responsible for its activities. Uses: It is used as Astringent, Laxative, Stomachic and Tonic . It is also used as an Anthelmintic. Fruits pulp is used to cure bleeding. It is an ingredient of Triphala Churna . It is also used in the treatment of piles and external ulcers. In industry, it is used in dyeing and tanning industry.

Choose Gingko Biloba Products Carefully !!!

Ginkgo Biloba is well known for its benefits for brain functioning. Ginkgo Biloba is main constituent in many food supplements. But, questions have been raised regarding the authenticity of many supplements sold as Ginkgo biloba. A study published in Canada states that your Ginkgo biloba supplement may not really be what you think it is. There are number of food supplements available in market which are mislabeled and mislead the customers about Gingko biloba and consumers may not be obtaining the products and benefits which they believe they are getting when they buy supplements. DNA bar coding was used to check the actual authenticity of popular supplements and also testing was done for the authenticity of Ginkgo biloba supplements with DNA bar coding. Study found supplements ware mislabeled and Gingko biloba used for making supplements didn’t passed bar coding testing. Gingko biloba was adultered with inferior substitutes.
